Día de los Muertos

“The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living”  — Marcus Tullius Cicero

This is one of my favourite styles to paint; I love bringing my work to life through texture and the use of colour. I often work with a variation of techniques and mediums such as spray paint, inks and metallic paints to create a raised embossed look, I would often screenprint my base pattern then paint over it in sections.

Colour is an essential part of my paintings - this style is very vibrant where I used transparent and metallic paints so that the artwork catches the light. These works were created on thick cotton stock and plywood. The Artworks below were a few commision pieces I did which some were displayed at The Southern Cross Bar in Wellington.
